Sensex sheds 208 pts,Nifty is also ends Red

The S&P BSE Sensex tanked 208 points, or 0.82 per cent, to close the day at 25,044 while 50-stock barometer Nifty50 ended the day near its 3 month low at 7,610, down 73 point.

ICICI Bank and Tata Motors were the top losers in the BSE benchmark. The Sensex ended the week with losses of 595 points, or 2.31 percent while Nifty50 shed 171 points, or 2.22 percent.

The broader markets also caught in bear grip with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices down 1.2 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively.

For the week, the Sensex lost 2.3 percent and the Nifty fell 2.2 percent with the Bank Nifty down 3.6 percent.
