TODAY MARKET UPDATE by NISHA

The market ended on a strong with the Nifty above 7700. The 50-share index was up 37.55 points or 0.5 percent at 7708.95. The Sensex was up 123.43 points or 0.5 percent at 25145.59. About 1509 shares have advanced, 1103 shares declined, and 120 shares are unchanged. 

Most Asian markets were trading mixed this morning. Japan'sbenchmark Nikkei was trading 1.03 per cent higher at 15,913.50. China's CSI300 fell 0.40 per cent to 3,217.

Other Asian indices, including Hong Kong's Hang Seng (up 0.17 per cent), South Korea's Kospi (up 0.26 per cent) and Taiwan's TWSE (up 0.15 per cent), were trading higher.

GAIL, Maruti, Tata Motors, Adani Ports and Hero MotoCorp were top gainers while Coal India, Tata Steel, ITC, Hindalco and HDFC Bank were losers in the Sensex.

Sensex and Nifty Open Strong in Morning Trade Today

The market gained strength in noon trade with the Sensex rising 182.07 points to 24405.39 and the Nifty climbing 62.95 points to 7424.75. The broader markets underperformed benchmarks with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices up 0.4-0.7 percent.

Subsequently, index consolidated within a narrow range and similar to the previous day, we saw late selloff to end the session with more than a percent cut. Yesterday, the Nifty struggled to stay beyond the 7400 mark and thus, eventually the bears took a charge to end the session almost at the lowest point of the day.

We are still reluctant to get carried away by this pessimism as we are observing a strong support in the zone of 7380 and 7320, which are 61.8% and 78.6% replacement of the recent up move from 7241.50 to 7600.45, respectively.

On the higher side, an hourly closing above 7420 may result into some intraday bounce towards 7460 – 7480 levels. Traders are advised to stay light on positions and focus more on individual stocks.

The Domestic Market Gain Sharply

The US and Asian markets are nicely work so , the domestic market was beginning to return the profit starts at the green signal. In early trade, the Sensex, Nifty climbed 0.75 percent. The BSE 30-share Sensex index rose 160 points 24 840 level is reached.

Sensex sheds 208 pts,Nifty is also ends Red

The S&P BSE Sensex tanked 208 points, or 0.82 per cent, to close the day at 25,044 while 50-stock barometer Nifty50 ended the day near its 3 month low at 7,610, down 73 point.

ICICI Bank and Tata Motors were the top losers in the BSE benchmark. The Sensex ended the week with losses of 595 points, or 2.31 percent while Nifty50 shed 171 points, or 2.22 percent.

The broader markets also caught in bear grip with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices down 1.2 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively.

For the week, the Sensex lost 2.3 percent and the Nifty fell 2.2 percent with the Bank Nifty down 3.6 percent.

Yesterday, the Bank Nifty opened with the downside gap of more than 200 points and started falling from the initial trades. The index and the individual stocks from the sector drifted lower till the announcement of the RBI’s policy action. However, on announcement of 50 bps cut in report rate, the index rallied higher sharply. The banking index then outperformed broader indices and ended the session with gains of 1.06 percent. Though the trend remains negative, a pullback towards 17550 – 17700 cannot be ruled out. Thus, we advise traders to stay cautious and avoid aggressive fresh longs at current levels. The immediate support for the index is placed around 17100 and 16850.
 
The S&P BSE Sensex was up over 200 points after gaining over 250 points in opening trade on Wednesday following positive trends seen in other Asian markets. The 50-share Nifty index was testing its crucial resistance level of 7,900. The rupee strengthened 21 paise to 65.75 against the US dollar in early trade on Wednesday.
